Born 1940 in Neubrandenburg, Horst Haack lived in Lübeck from 1945 to 1959. He moved to West Berlin to study painting at the Berlin Academy of Art. Painting "light"! From 1967 on he lived and worked on the spanish island of Ibiza. 1979 he relocated to Paris. There, in 1981, he began his "Chronographie Terrestre (Work in Progress)" – not realizing at the time this was to be his future life's work. It is a painted, drawn and panel-mounted diary that he has continued to work on ever since. He lives and works in Darmstadt and Paris.
